Hey Dave, thanks for the pics of John's amp heads. What is the little cable for from the top right input to the bottom left input on the Marshall Major?
Ponted input ;)
4 input at all (2 low input and 2 high input) i think
For a biggest sound
Thanks For All Mr Rat (Pedalboards,Mics List,Now Amps List and Amp Head Pictures)
You are a God :)
What's speakers using John in her Marshall Cabinet ?? Celestion G12t75 or Vintage 30 ??
hey, those are some nice head shots! Chris, i believe the mini cable is commonly referred to as a 'jumper' cable to alter the performance of the amp (i forget in what matter exactly, more gain?). line-six modeled this head being used in this fashion.
I believe that most amplifiers have 2 inputs, a clean input and a gain input. One plug gives you a really clean sparkling guitar tone, the other is a bit dirtier but has more oomph.
That cable just means the signal is going into both inputs, thereby you get the best of both worlds.
or so I think, I could be wrong....
Matt, this particular amp has 4 inputs. and john is plugged into the top left. the other two that are 'jumped' i believe, yes, gives you a different sound. i feel strange not being able to find any online resource about amp and its jumper cable. i start to wonder how i even know about it, I think EVH was famous for being one of the people who did it. Maybe he explained it in an interview once (or whoever that person was)... go john!
Hey Dave,
Thank you for your great blog!
I'm from Switzerland & I saw you at the gig in Zurich.
See you next time in Zurich. ;-)
Fabrizio
Hey Dave! Cheers for the pics of the John's heads! Is Rig #3 also used for John's Les Paul??
