"Give me the tools I need to do my job and I will guarantee a quality result."
Dave- Your quote above is so true! Sometimes people expect you to work miracles with lack of or the incorrect tools. Good post, Your Gates you are using are you using them to take the ring out or just to mute the mic while the various drums are not being hit?
Hi Dave, Your quote took the words right out of my mouth. Hear, hear! Look forward to your next post. Love the cardioid sub setup! I'd need more processors (more subs too) to try that, maybe some day...
Thank you so much for sharing all this info and pics!!!!!!!! is very much appreciated!!!!!
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi, good post. cant wait to see your input list ;) maybe you will put pics of board like you did with rhcp? ;)

Hey of it's the Orgasmatron... I'll volunteer!!
Bear spray? I am not so sure about that..
Loving the great shots too -
Rock on my friend.
Hey Dave, since you're using the Symetrix 501 as an insert with comp section rather than the limiter, what are you using for the limiter on the subs, the processor in the Labs? Also, on my Rat Sub® I'm using the Symetrix as well but just as a limiter. Did you ever use the comp section simultaneously when running a Rat Trap setup or otherwise? I was under the impression you didn't. For that reason, I tend to insert a comp on the bass channel and sometimes the kick channel(s) so that the sub send is processed as well. I've also just run with group only compression though too and none on the channel inserts. I've also tried both. Any opinions based on your experience?

Gotta have the bear spray where I live if you hike. Actually, there was a homeless guy that just got attacked at a park close to town. It probably wouldn't have happened if he hadn't been feeding the cubs. Momma bear didn't like that too much apparently. Not the smartest idea one could have.
Hi Dave,
I notice from the pictures of the vortex sub set-up that one stack is in the cardiod configuration!! Could you shed some more light on that..
And i truly appreciate all the time you take to share your worldly experiences.
Thank you so much !!

>> Moving over there is the archaic DBX RTA-1. I doubt there are many left surviving but I love it. It is truly the only RTA that actually looks like what I am hearing.
man, you got that right. I use mine all the time (worked at dbx and wrote the first manual for the unit), and I know several other people who still have and use and love theirs. You'd think all modern RTAs would have temporal averaging, wouldncha?
Hi David, I don't suppose you know of a good place to aquire an RTA-1 manual or associated literature? I have one which is not functioning and there seems to be almost no information out there relating to this unit. DBX website included.
