15"/10"/1" Wedge (~1983)

Here is where the 10"s went from the horn loaded system.  These started out as a biamp wedge with piezos instead of the 1" drivers , mainly due to our limited budget.  Over time they were modified and improved till they were triamped in the configuration shown. These monitors had several advantages over a 15"/2" design.  The 15" operated from 45 HZ to 200 HZ.  By sending the midrange frequencies to the 10", the 15" was able to reproduce more low end.  The 10"/1" provided a smooth vocal sound. These wedges were loud and sounded good with very little EQ but were more expensive to build and power than the typical monitors of the day.
