Well Robbie,

You ask a tough question and the answer is yes and no. Building your own designs or using unknown designs can save you $ and if they are good enough you can establish yourself as a sole vendor for a unique product. Unfortunately it is a very uphill battle and to be honest you will make alot less money and put in alot more work, at least in the short term.

If financial gain and success is your goal, would not reallyn recommend it. If you have goals of creating, designing and learning then building your own system designs and working toward their success, it can be very rewarding.

: I currently do various sound gigs every so often for raves and dances or the occasional concert. I am upgrading my full-range boxes this fall to something alot better than what I have now but I don't know for sure what I should do. The dilema is that I have built many very good sounding boxes using Radian and B&C componets but I am worried that if I go off and build a "home-built" box I will get know gigs. That is what I have been told at least by a few people. So what I really want to know is that if it is possible to have a medium sized PA comapny using "home-built" boxes.

: On a side note the boxes aren't even really home built they are built by a 50+ year old master woodworker who has alot of experience so the boxes themselves 'look' like any professional box out there. I am just worried about not having a "name"
