Here's my problem: I decided that I wanted to give my p.a. system a deeper thump. I bought an extra set of EV 18's and a Peavey CS-900. I ran my board to through my eq and crossover as usual. On the outputs for highs and lows I ran the highs to my usual CS-800, and I used a Y cable to devide the low output between the two amps. I'm figuring that this is where the problem lies. I think that both amps are splitting the signal in half because when I shut either of the two amps off, the other responds much better. In other words, when both are on, it's quieter. I've also tried connecting the two amps with their paralell inputs and not using the Y cable; this yielded the same result. How do I get a full signal to both of the amps? Is there some box that will split the signal and still give a full signal to each amp. As you could immagine, I'm dissapointed because now I have two 18's and an extra amp that I can't even run because my system is better without them. Oh yes, note that when I run both amps, they both are clipping but with less volume? Help me. Please.
