Hry Jon,

How is going? Here is what I was answering to, maybe I was a bit unclear.

: When you say vertically tall and horizontally narrow are you refering to its physical appearance? or its dispersion pattern?

I am referring to its physical shape

:Do not most line array horns try to maximize the horizontal while having a fairly constrained vertical?

Yes, as you know, achieving adequately wide horizontal dispersion while coping with the tempermental and interactive vertical issues of the elements in a line array, are the major challenges that the designers and techs setting up, face.

:Or are you refering to just the characteristics of the line array "lense". In other words, I suppose if one looked at the L-Acoustics Vdosc Wave Guide I suppose you could say it was long and narrow.
: Just curious?

I was addressing the following question(s)in the post:

"""The one thing I am not understanding though is the mid/high sections. They seem to be 2 mid speakers palced 90 degrees to each other with a horn in the center. Is that a real simple way to look at it? A too simple way? Is all that a high freq horn does is just aim the waves?"""

And trying to shed some light on the diference between the various horn designs and specifically the 'horn' in a line array.

Dave

:
: : The Line Array horn is a special case horn that is quite diferent. The goal of the Line array horn is to have sound exit all points of the horn at the exact same time and to have the exit be vertically tall and horizontally narrow.
