I have worked on both consoles, and I have a few considerations to throw at you. If you're planning on doing dedicated monitor duty, the Venice layout is not ideal for that purpose. They made presuppositions about the layout and it really is only setup for FOH type tasks with some monitor mixes. The other thing is the the phantom switches are on the back of the Venice instead of on top. That said, it's a good sounding board, but the A&H doesn't sound bad either. For overall features, the A&H is a more "cost effective" board, and hard to beat. Some of the big pluses for the GL2200 would be dual configuation switches for FOH and/or monitor duty, 4 LED channel PFL channel metering (only 2 on the Venice), & 100mm faders (I think 60mm on the Venice). If rider acceptibility is the most important factor, then the Midas will win. If bang for the buck is most important, the A&H will win.

Cheers,
Greg
