I agree... hard to reconcile ideals and realities so why even bother? They (with a capital T) do what They want regardless of what's best and/or what's agreed upon, although there appears to be an odd correlation between profitability and Their decisions...
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks Dave for the interesting (and very educational) writings.

So it's all over now? You need to reaclimate to your world. I just got home from downstate for a short visit. I was so overstimulated by everything, I was becoming physically ill. I'm great, happy, excited. Very few can be happy for me, or offer possitive words. I have to learn NOT to care. I lost myself in chicken breast roasted in seseame seed oil, fat brown rice, and a fragrant roadside cantalope. I know contentment. It's pretty fucking great. I woke today to cold clean air. What more could I ask for?
congratulations on the new ventures!

So I was looking at the picture of that smokestack and building and realized that its the old powerhouse located right next to EAW's (Loud/Mackie) shipping department (building 26). I work on the grounds crew that upkeeps the mill and property. I just thought it was cool that in some way, shape, or form, the Red Hot Chili Peppers has a possible connection with the place I work. Funny thing is, it seems like you took that picture soon after I painted that fire hydrant and warning post.
Hi Dave,
Just found your blog. What you do is brilliant. As a fan, I sometimes forget about the work you guys do. Anyway, I'm assuming your going to the gig at Hampden (I'm going). I'd like to give everyone a warm welcome to Scotland and hope everyone has a great time :)
nope, its the old power house smoke stack at the old Whitin Machine Works in Whitinsville, MA. EAW (or whats left of it rather) is located a building to the left (out of view). The building you see in front with the white window frames is Access (some company that designs and builds these awesomely huge and crazy trade show display set ups for companies.
